About Kurdistan Region
In cooperation with a consulting company from Lebanon, Kohl & Partner was assigned to prepare a Tourism Master Plan for Kurdistan Region. Based on the evaluation of the current situation (including several surveys, stakeholder interviews and site visits) and the definition of the development strategy 14 different pre-defined modules were prepared. Those modules included topics like potential analysis, investment attractiveness improvement, 53 investment projects, brand and communication strategy and PPP in tourism.
About Kurdistan Region
Kurdistan Region is situated in the Northern part of Iraq, has the status of an autonomous region and consists of three provinces (Duhok, Erbil and Sulaymaniyah). Only after the fall of the regime of Saddam Hussein the government of Kurdistan Region could act more independent. Tourism development is only in its very initial phase but the tourism industry is seen as one of the most potential sectors.
